EA Launching New “Laptop-friendly” Sims Series

The Sims StoriesIf there weren’t enough Sims games and offshoots to go around already, EA has just announced a brand new line in The Sims universe entitled The Sims Stories. At this time, three titles have already been announced for the line: The Sims Life Stories, The Sims Pet Stories, and The Sims Castaway Stories. The Sims Life Stories will be the first in the series, releasing in a mere matter of weeks on February 6th (Feb. 2nd in Europe), with Pet Stories to follow this summer and Castaway Stories coming sometime in Winter 2008.

All three games (which are standalone products requiring no previous Sims games to play) are being designed as story-driven experiences with a casual “laptop-friendly” accessibility to entertain gaming novices and veterans alike. This sounds like it could be a clever new way to experience The Sims, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the first one turns out come February. Swing by the official The Sims Stories website for more information on all three titles.
