You know, I’m a huge fan of the Death Jr. series, once Konami’s now in the hands of Eidos. The DS episode may have sucked big time (boy was it awful!), but the original PSP games are still two of my favs on the platform. Sure, they’ve got some annoying little quirks, but I love the style and personality of the cast and setting, and overall just find both titles a lot of fun to play.
Reason I bring up my affinity for Death Jr. is because the enhanced Wii-make of Death Jr.: Root of Evil is coming up later this month (May 27th) and Eidos just shot over a bunch of sweet new media. All the new assets got me very excited, so I just had to share them here with you. Gameplay footage, an animated short, box art, concept artwork and screenshots, it’s all posted for your viewing pleasure after the break.

I don’t think that the realization of the games ever lived up to the really cool concept. I think that the PSP games were better, but still only average (I reviewed both as 3 / 5 at GamerDad). Hopefully the Wii version can finally bring home some real substance for the promising franchise!
Yeah, I’d agree that their potential has never been fully realized, but still, I just think they’re really fun games despite the quirks.
