Enslaved is an awesome game. I’ve played it through twice and spent many hours tracking down all those pesky tech orbs to get the coveted Platinum trophy. I love it, and I can’t wait for another reason to fire it back up.
Thankfully, the wait to do so won’t be much longer. Namco Bandai has been teasing plans for a Pigsy-starring DLC add-on for Enslaved since before the game shipped, and I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for details. Today those details were delivered.
Namco Bandai has officially announced Pigsy’s Perfect 10, a downloadable extension to Ninja Theory’s cinematic action/adventure game in which players will get the chance to play as Pigsy as he searches the Titan Graveyard for scrap parts to build the perfect woman. No, really!
Pigsy, the comical porcine character known for his one-line zingers and questionable hygiene, finally gets his time in the spotlight. The Titan Graveyard is a lonely place and Pigsy really needs some companionship beyond the mechs that roam the area. He dreams of the perfect woman and embarks on a mission to build one from scratch using scrap parts he finds around the junkyard. In contrast to the main game which features strong, capable Monkey as the playable character, Pigsy is much more of a lover than a fighter. Pigsy’s gameplay will have a completely different gameplay dynamic, with a focus on stealth and sharp-shooting. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeves including a far-reaching hookshot, trusty sniper rifle, various grenades and devices, Trouble Vision eye piece and the aid of his trusty mechanical sidekick Truffles.
And for those who care, this DLC pack will also add support for TriOviz 3D technology to the main game and the add-on chapter. If you own a 3D TV, you’ll need to use a pair of Stereo 3D Active Shutter Glasses. If your TV doesn’t do 3D, you’ll have to get a pair of TriOviz INFICOLOR 3D glasses. 3D remains an expensive gimmick to me until proven otherwise, so I won’t be bothering with either.
Pigsy’s Perfect 10 doesn’t have an official release date just yet, but it will be out on PSN and Xbox Live before the end of 2010. It’ll cost $9.99/800 MS Points.
