Enslaved’s Blinking Environments: Distraction or Helpful Guide?

What do you notice when you watch this gameplay footage from Ninja Theory’s upcoming action/adventure game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West? If you’re like me, your attention will instantly be drawn to the blinking environmental guides, which are both completely distracting and entirely unnecessary. I sure hope there will be an option to turn them off, or, better yet, Ninja Theory removes them from the game altogether.

Seriously, do we really need games to hold our hand THIS much now? I say no, but what do you think? Do all the blinking lights annoy you too or do you like the idea of in-game guides like this?
