EQII Game Update #30 Goes Live

EQII Game Update #30

Yesterday Sony Online Entertainment patched EQII with live Game Update #30, and along with the usual fixes and gameplay tweaks it has introduced an exciting assortment of holiday activities to partake in. In celebration of Frostfell returning to the world of Norrath, players are greeted by holiday themed quests found in the cities of South Freeport, North Qeynos or Kelethin that reward special house decorations like a Frostfell tree and wreath, and a cool new Frostfell Wonderland Village zone, accessible via Magic Closets setup in Qeynos Harbor, West Freeport, Haven, and Kelethin, that contains harvestable tradeskill items for crafting holiday goodies and more.

While visiting the Wonderland Village you can also meet up with Mergott Mizzlefig McScroogle and help him understand the meaning of Frostfell in a funny quest that parodies “A Christmas Carol”. And finally, SOE has just patched in today an additional holiday mini-game event called Frostfell Candy Cane Grab’n’Tag (available in the major cities), in which players compete in a game of tag with the goal to pick up more candy canes than everyone else.

I spent a few hours last night exploring the new holiday content and it’s all a ton of fun so far… and I now have a Frostfell tree with a few presents underneath, a book copy of the “Frostfell Carol”, a bowl of holiday candy and some festive candles now decorating my home. I haven’t checked out the Candy Cane Grab’n’Tag as of yet since I haven’t logged in today, but I’ll be giving it a go here in a bit.
