EQII Game Update #38 Goes Live

Game Update #38

Game Update #38 has now gone live for EverQuest II, and as usual it brings with it a number of excellent new additions to the game world. First and foremost, the Grand Prankster Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane has returned to Norrath as a new deity to worship. Here are a couple screenshots I just snapped visiting Bristlebane’s Prophet, Tobel Patadash, and his alter at the docks in The Enchanted Lands.

Also new to the game are appearance item slots that, upon reaching level 20, enable you to equip favorite pieces of armor as appearance items on top of your real equipment. Say you have a great piece of armor that doesn’t exactly look all that special. Well now you can simply throw on a better looking item for appearances only without sacrificing the stats of your top gear.

If that wasn’t enough, the annoying Dual Wield designation on weaponry has been eliminated so all one-handed weapons can now be dual wielded, the Estate of Unrest has become persistent so you and your raid group can work through part of the instance and come back later right where you left off, new quests have been added and a bunch of other achievement, tradeskill, item and gameplay tweaks have been made. The full slate of patch notes is available at the EQII update page.
