Far Cry 3’s New Launch Date Faces December Insanity

As of earlier this month during E3, Far Cry 3 was due for a fall launch date of September 7th. Now the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 tropical open world FPS will face the full insanity of the 2012 holiday shopping season with its new North American ship date of December 4th. (EMEA countries get it a week earlier on November 29th.)

That’s cutting it pretty damn close to Christmas, but most people wait until the last minute to do their gift shopping any way so gamers should still have plenty of time to slip it onto their wish lists.

“We’re taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience,” said Dan Hay, producer at Ubisoft. “Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players.”

In case you missed them, here’s the latest Far Cry 3 trailer and screenshot batch from Ubisoft’s E3 showcase.
