If you hadn’t heard already, DreamCatcher Games is bringing back Dungeon Lords for another go-’round in The Orb and the Oracle. Sure, the first game was one of the buggiest, most disappointing game releases in recent memory (even more so than Two Worlds!), but PC RPG fans bought it up like crazy (even when it was repackaged in a collector’s edition in essentially the same broken form) so a sequel was inevitable. I don’t know whether to be hopeful that they’ll get the game right this time or mortally terrified that we’ll get yet another buggy mess of epic proportions, but hey, at least the game looks decent enough in these first three screenshots. That’s something to be happy about at this point I suppose.

I wrote a blog entry here ( http://www.gamingwithchildren.com/2008-06-26/dungeon-lords-the-orb-and-the-oracle-announced/ ) about this … the original won ‘Worst Game of 2005’, yet sold over 1 million copies. Amazing. Apparently DW Bradley is still involved …
