Free-to-Play FPS Blacklight: Retribution Shoots Up PS4

Another self-published indie game coming to PlayStation 4 is an evolved version of Blacklight: Retribution. Zombie Studios, backed by the PlayStation Pub Fund, is bringing its free-to-play multiplayer FPS, first released for PC last summer, to Sony’s next-gen console with a robust selection of 10 maps and nine different match types. From Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, to Kill Confirmed and co-op survival, players will take up arms in a near-future war zone, utilizing in-depth weapon customization and level progression options, team coordination, Hyper Reality Vision reconnaissance tech, and hulking exoskeletons called Hard Suits to secure victory.

With over two million players since its PC launch, Blacklight: Retribution would seem to have the popularity and quality gameplay to make it an early hit for the PS4, especially as a free-to-play product for gamers who will have just ponied up what is likely going to be a hefty chunk of change to buy their new Sony console.
