Yesterday we reported that GameStop.com would be holding a last chance Wii pre-order online beginning tomorrow night (November 9th). Though the price was known (a mere $694.88 plus tax and handling) what it contained was a mystery.
Today GameStop lifted the veil on the bundle to show interested gamers exactly what they’ll be receiving. If you’re lucky enough to snag one of the pre-orders, in addition to a Wii you’ll get:
- Wii Memory SD 1GB
- Additional Wii Remote Controller
- 6 Games:
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Trauma Center: Second Opinion
- Red Steel
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance
- Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
- Madden NFL 2007
- 12 Month Product Replacement Plan
- Game Informer Gift Subscription
For more information on this very expensive all-inclusive bundle, head over to GameStop’s Wii Information page.
I also heard that this bundle will be the only way to get a copy of Twilight Princess at launch now, as EB/GameStop supposedly said their pre-order stock on the individual game itself are all claimed. Not sure if this is confirmed though.
But anyways, yeah, the bundle is stupid. The games are worth it, but forcing you to buy the other stuff is crap.
You’re correct Matt, I confirmed it tonight.
I really didn’t want my money back for canceling my Gears of War pre-order. I wanted to move the money on a pre-order on Zelda for the Wii, however the GameStop employee told me that they removed the SKU from the system. Therefore they can’t even take a pre-order if they wanted.
i find it strange that nintendo would short ship it’s biggest wii launch title… very strange, considering how many copies the last few zelda games were available when they launched. i say buy it elsewhere, kids. target, circuit city, best buy, etc. they should have the game if gs/ebx doesn’t.
the “12 month product replacement plan” is a scam deluxe as it is in every electronics store (er, the manufacturer has a warranty, people!!!) and i think they’re scamming on twilight princess as well. making sure to sell one or two iffy titles in the bundle that probably won’t do well on their own. but we’ll see. i think the majority of wiimote-enabled games will sell well as more people pick them up to sate their curiousity…
And what exactly does “evening” mean? 6 p.m.? 7 p.m.? WTF. The whole thing stinks; I hate that I’m being sucked in!
