Nintendo has revealed today that Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, shipping March 24th exclusively for 3DS (retail and eShop), will feature new multiplayer modes for local and online play, as well as support for Download Play.

The first multiplayer game type to be announced is called Hunter Mode. Up to four players, each controlling Luigi in different color overalls, will team up and enter the ScareScraper in an attempt to clear out ghost-infested towers of five, 10 or 25 floors before time runs out. Along the way, players will earn upgrades based on the team’s all-around performance. A boss ghost will await at the top of each tower to put squads of Luigi poltergeist eradicators to the ultimate test.
