Before moving on to the PlayStation 4 main event of its E3 showcase, Sony took a brief moment to talk about current and future happenings on PlayStation 3.
Of particular note, Sony announced a partnership with Rockstar on two Grand Theft Auto V-themed PlayStation products, the first being a console bundle containing a 500GB PS3, a standard edition copy of GTAV and a 30-day trial subscription to PlayStation Plus, all for $299.99.

As a piece of complimentary tech, Sony will also be releasing a Pulse Elite Edition headset custom designed with a GTAV theme. But don’t be misled by the bundle box showing a picture of the headset. The headset will be sold separately for $179.99 exclusively at GameStop, and will NOT be included in the bundle.
Both the bundle and headset will go on sale for GTAV‘s September 17th launch day. Now here, have some new screenshots before heading off to check out more of our ongoing E3 2013 coverage.

I’m not crazy about the green V on the sides of the cans, but 500 GB, plus headphones and GTA 5 for $300 isn’t too shabby.
Has Sony indicated that the Pulse headset will work with the PS4?
Kinda crazy to think that the PS3 value is only $120 based on this bundle.
freemantim As stated in the story, the headset is NOT included in the bundle. It’s misleading the way they show the headset on the side of the box, but it’s just an ad for the headset which will be sold standalone for $180. The bundle is the console, the game and a PS+ trial.
VGBMatt freemantim Doh! My ADD eyes saw the PS3 box, and then your words of $179 and I need a vacation.
freemantim Oh, and I haven’t heard anything about whether the Pulse will work on PS4. You would think something like a headset would be universal, but the way these companies work it wouldn’t surprise me if they won’t be compatible so Sony can sell new Pulse headsets just for PS4.
