Exato Game’s voxel-based FPS blend of Minecraft sandbox modding and the online multiplayer action of military shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield, is currently available from the studio’s website, but for a lot of folks the game doesn’t truly launch until it’s on Steam.
Well, after blowing through the Greenlight process, Guncraft‘s Steam release is officially blocked and loaded for August 9th. At the same $15 price point.
Once the Steam version hits, a host of new features will be introduced, including a Racing Mode, Achievements, Leaderboards and Trading Cards. In progress for a week now, Exato is even hosting a contest to determine the game’s final two Trading Cards. To enter, current players can use the game’s Gunsmithing feature to craft their own weapons, with the top two community creations to be immortalized as Trading Card artwork. Nice!
You can read up on the contest particulars here and see how the Gunsmithing system actually works via the trailer underneath this sentence.
