Bungie released a video documentary on the transformation taking place on the Brutes from the hairy gorilla meatshields they were in Halo 2 to a more refined, tactical opponent in Halo 3. This video is available on Xbox Live Marketplace in high-definition for free, or you can just stay here and watch it below. 🙂

I was already interested in this game more than the past two once I saw the beginning of the last trailer they put out, with the two kids in the field (if you’ve read Fall of Reach, then you know that scene a little bit, or what it references). The fact that they threw that in, on top of the Cortana/Master Chief story going on…I mean, there is a LOT to go with here. I’m really anxious just to see if they use some of the history from the books in this one, because I think the Master Chief character really needs to be brought out as a much more involving character. If you’ve read Fall of Reach, then you KNOW how involving he can be, but the games really haven’t captured that.
Either way, I love what they are doing with the Brutes. They really weren’t great in Halo 2, but my big question (probably like most everyone else) is the full lore behind the Forerunner structure!
