Move over, Zen Studios. There’s a new order of video game pinball wizards in town.
Indie studio Phantom Compass has announced plans to release Rollers of the Realm this holiday season on not just PC as originally developed, but also PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita thanks to publishing help from Atlus. Atlus will be showing off a playable beta build of the game next week at the company’s E3 booth.
Rollers of the Realm is a true pinball RPG mash-up, featuring fundamental pinball mechanics combined with AI enemies (including bosses) that will attack and do damage to your pinball flippers, an epic fantasy story with fully voiced dialogue and cutscenes spanning six chapters, and shiny silver balls that represent the individual heroes of your party, each with unique abilities, attributes, physics and backstories. So yes, you will literally be able to play as a real pinball wizard!
