Infamous: Second Son Has Two Special Editions

PlayStation 4 exclusive Infamous: Second Son, slated to launch early next year, is too big of a deal to just offer one special edition. So, there are two!

Now available for pre-order, your Second Son special edition choices are the Limited Edition and the Collector’s Edition.

The $80 Collector’s Edition comes with exclusive box art, a wearable replica of Delsin’s beanie, a collection of 8 pins modeled after those Delsin wears on his vest in the game, a DUP patch, some vinyl decals, and Delsin’s “Legendary” vest DLC. A decent array of collectibles, but nothing too special.

Then there’s the $60 Limited Edition, an upgraded copy of the game that comes with an exclusive foil cover at no additional cost. The only catch is that you will need to pre-order the game prior to launch in order to receive the Limited Edition upgrade.

Both the CE and LE will also come bundled with the Cole’s Legacy DLC, a mission pack that will bridge the story gap between Infamous 2 and Second Son. Supposedly this DLC will never be sold on the PlayStation Store, but I have to believe that down the road, well after the game has launched and Sony no longer has to drive pre-order sales with an exclusive deal, the DLC will be sold separately. I mean why wouldn’t Sony want to make the extra DLC cash by selling to an audience that’s only going to grow larger as the PS4 matures?
