It’s Official: Sonic Joins Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

That’s right folks, you can stop demanding and speculating now. Sega’s iconic Sonic the Hedgehog has officially been unveiled as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! If you don’t believe me, here’s visual proof in the form of four screenshots and an actual introductory trailer.

It’s not all roses and sunshine on the SSBB front today though, unfortunately. At its Fall Conference, Nintendo has announced that Brawl has been delayed until January 24, 2008 from its original debut date this holiday season. As of now this delay is only in effect in Japan, with no changes to the US release date of December 3rd having been announced as of yet (and hopefully there won’t be any). On the bright side, Nintendo did release this killer new gameplay trailer for Brawl at the Fall Conference:
