Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier Announced for PSP, PS2

It’s hard to take any news today seriously with it being April Fool’s Day and all, but this story is legit…I think. Over on the PlayStation blog, Sony has announced that High Impact Games is currently working on a new Jak & Daxter game for PSP and PS2 titled Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Yes, that’s PSP and PS2, not the first PS3 installment fans have been crossing their fingers for. Naughty Dog is too busy with Uncharted 2 at the moment, but hopefully after that they’ll take a crack at bringing the series to PS3.

But anyhoo, back on point here… Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier will be released sometime later this year, adding another must-have to the PSP’s strong ’09 lineup and a notable franchise game to the PS2 library for those who have yet to make the PS3 jump. From the early screenshots the game is looking kinda flat and bland graphically, even for a PSP/PS2 title, but I’m sure that’ll improve as development continues. It’s Jak & Daxter and High Impact Games is developing it, so it’ll be good.
