Killzone 3 Debut Teaser Hypes Melee Combat, Hints at Playable Helghast

The first trailer for Killzone 3 has arrived — along with the launch of the official Killzone 3 hub site — and even though it’s only a short teaser, it sure teases effectively.

The main point of emphasis is clearly the game’s brutal new melee combat abilities, but the closing scene is what caught my attention. At the end we see a soldier (probably Shev, but he looks different so can’t say for sure) ripping off a Helghast helmet and putting it on, hinting at the possibility of some sort of disguise system or, perhaps, a dual storyline playable from both sides. From the few details that have been released, Guerrilla Games has said that the Helghan side of the conflict will be a focal point in the story, so that final scene definitely has to be a clue of some sort. I bet we’ll find out at E3!
