Killzone: Shadow Fall Joins PS4 Launch Lineup

Sony and Guerrilla Games used a phony baloney “target render” of Killzone 2 to hype the PS3, but they’re not making that same PR blunder again. During the PlayStation 4’s coming out party Wednesday night, Guerrilla’s Hermen Hulst took the stage to play a real-time gameplay demo for the series’ next installment, Killzone: Shadow Fall. Yes, actual gameplay with no tricks (at least none that we know of yet).

According to early details, Shadow Fall is set 30 years after Killzone 3, with players taking up the role of a new hero, an elite special forces dude known as a Shadow Marshal, shooting shit up in a futuristic city where Helghast and the Vektans live together. And not so peacefully it would seem.

Guerrilla also used the stage time to demonstrate the PS4’s gameplay broadcasting functionality, tapping the “Share” button at the end to upload the full demo to the Killzone Facebook page (embedded below along with a trailer).

Pretty neat! Oh yeah, and the game looks mighty impressive, too. A Killzone with some color, can you believe it?
