Today brings bad news and sorta-good news regarding Legacy of Ys: Books I & II. Bad news first: the two-game DS action-RPG compilation has had its ship date pushed back by two weeks from Feb. 10th to Feb. 24th. That works out perfectly for me because my birthday is actually the 24th, but for most everyone else I’m sure it stinks to see the game delayed, even if it’s not by that much.
As for the sorta-good news, Atlus has announced that all launch copies of Legacy of Ys will now come as a premium box containing the game and original soundtrack CD – an admittedly blatant attempt on Atlus’ part to mask news of the launch date delay. The only reason I call this news sorta-good rather than fantastic is simple really: the soundtrack was already being offered as a pre-order bonus, so unless Atlus now goes and adds on a new pre-order prize to go with the premium box nothing has really changed.
