Let’s Watch Sony’s NGP Showcase in HD

By now you’ve probably already seen shaky cam footage and short clips from Sony’s PlayStation Meeting earlier in the week. But how would you like to watch the whole shebang in HD? Yep, Sony has posted all 90+ minutes of the NGP unveil event to YouTube in six parts, so now you can see just how sexy the ‘Next Generation Portable’ truly is and how beautifully it runs games like Uncharted, Little Deviants and MGS4 without the camera jitter and blurry video mucking up your view.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about all the touch screen gimmickry (particularly in Uncharted; although the “pushing up through the screen” touch pad controls of Little Deviants are pretty slick), but it sounds like that stuff will be optional to the traditional control method of face buttons and analog sticks. Everything else looks highly impressive. And it’s also great to see how excited third parties seem to be about the device, because we all know how shaky third-party support has been for the current PSP for much of its existence. Hopefully that excitement continues when the system ships and is in gamers’ hands.
