Limited-Edition DS Bundles Coming Home for the Holidays

With the hustle and bustle of Black Friday looming, Nintendo has announced a new pair of limited-edition Nintendo DS bundles to kick off the holiday shopping season with. Set to go on sale this Friday, November 23rd are two bundles: a Zelda bundle featuring a gold DS Lite imprinted with a Triforce logo and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and a Nintendogs bundle containing a Metallic Rose DS Lite emblazoned with a pink puppy paw and a copy of the Nintendogs: Best Friends edition. Nintendo didn’t give any pricing info on the bundles in its press release this morning though, so how much it’ll cost I guess will be left up to retailers. Taking a quick browse around the net, I didn’t see any listings for either bundle yet, although EBgames/Gamestop is already offering a Phantom Hourglass bundle with a regular DS Lite (not the new gold edition) for $165, so I imagine the pricing will be similar.

“Nintendo DS remains the portable system of choice for gamers,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Our new bundles will be collector’s items for current gamers while offering an attractive way for people new to video games to play with style.”
