Goofball roguelike Loot Rascals will be launching March 7th on PC and PlayStation 4, developer Hollow Ponds confirmed today. It’ll sell for $15. For those eager to get in on the fun early and help the devs fine tune the game before full release, a special Refinery Edition is available to buy right now, in a limited supply, exclusively from itch.io. It’s also $15, including a key to download from Steam once the final product is launched.
Loot Rascals is a quirky blend of turn-based planet crawling, procedurally-generated maps, collectible card stat management, and a thick slathering of British humor. Visually, the game has a retro sci-fi vibe mixed with the oddball style of Katamari Damacy. After one look at the game it should come as no great surprise that the Hollow Ponds team consists of an animator from Adventure Time as well as former developers from Hohokum.
The game will be at PAX South this weekend if you’re interested in trying it out. Here’s a look at the previously released announce trailer, in case you missed it.
