Capcom has been saying that a network patch is in the works to optimize the Xbox 360 version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition since early July, but details beyond that have always remained undisclosed. Today, however, all the specifics about the network update have come out. The patch will be released this Thursday, August 30th, and with it will come the introduction of three different connection type choices when launching an online match, allowing players to select an option best suited for their connection speed, thusly creating a more stable online experience for everyone. The Default connection is the standard setting to use regardless of upload speed, Pattern A is best if you have a fast upload speed, and Pattern B if you’re upload rate is slow. Simple enough.

There are a few potential problems to look out for, though. Once the update is released, if you get into a match with players who haven’t installed the update Capcom has cautioned that glitches with screen text and disconnections may occur. So be sure to update right away come Thursday and let everyone you see online know to update as well to avoid these issues.
