Lost Planet Returns to Its Extreme Condition Roots Early 2013

After traipsing around in warmer climates 10 years after the first game, Capcom is bringing Lost Planet 3 back to the frigid extreme conditions of the original. Lost Planet 3 once again takes place on E.D.N. III, but goes back before the events of the first game to reveal the planet’s deeper history in a more story-driven campaign than what was offered in Lost Planet 2. New hero Jim, a blue collar rig pilot contracted by Neo-Venus Construction, will face fearsome Akrid in third-person combat on foot and in first-person utility rig (AKA mech suit) battles.

Using Unreal Engine 3 tech, Spark Unlimited is developing Lost Planet 3 for an early 2013 release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
