Super Bowl XLIII is just over a week away from kick off on Sunday, February 1 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and as it does before every major sporting event EA Sports has done an early simulation using Madden NFL 09. EA Sports’ Madden 09 simulation has the Pittsburgh Steelers edging out the Arizona Cardinals in a tight 28-24 ballgame. Despite another studly performance from Larry Fitzgerald and a spirited fourth quarter comeback rally, the Cardinals remarkable Cinderella run was ultimately halted by the Steelers bruising defense and the arm of Ben Roethlisberger, who was named Super Bowl MVP for his three-TD performance. Check out the highlight reel after the break.
As a diehard Steelers fan I can only hope this predication holds true. I’d love to find out the history of EA’s Madden Super Bowl Predictions. I know they didn’t get it right last year picking the Patriots to beat the Giants, but before that I believe their predictions were all winners. But I’m not a superstitious person so it doesn’t really matter to me either way. Should be one hell of a game. Classic match-up of great defense versus great offense — we’ll see which style wins out this time!
