Follow the dead (but coming back to life!) red mage’s lead and give Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Studios a glowing, golden thumbs-way-up, because today the original Magicka soundtrack has been released for gaming wizards across this kingdom we call Earth to enjoy.
All 26 tracks from the Magicka score, composed by Johan Lindgren, are available for free preview and download in the ‘Gallery & Downloads’ section of the game’s website. Unfortunately, I don’t see a Zip file with the whole shebang, so it looks like you’ll have to download each individual track.
But it’s worth the extra effort, as the soundtrack’s fantasy themes make for wonderful gamer nerd listening material. From what I’ve listened to so far, ‘The King in Yellow’, ‘A Tale of Wizards’ and ‘At World’s End’ are favorites that’ll definitely be getting heavy circulation on my MP3 player. And the bonus tracks ‘100 Snakes Cometh’ and ‘St George and the Dragon’ are a hoot!
My review is still in progress, but this is yet another example of just how awesome these devs are – they literally patched *every day* for two weeks since release, fixing a host of problems and smoothing out rough spots, and now THIS? For a budget game it is amazing!
