Mario Super Sluggers Now Batting for the Wii

MarioSuperSluggers.jpg Following up on the success of Mario Superstars Baseball from the GameCube, and more recent sports games for the Wii like Mario Strikers Charged and Wii Sports, Nintendo is bringing Mario and his pals back to the baseball diamond in Mario Super Sluggers. Not much has been announced for the title other than the expected Wii Remote control functionality for batting and pitching. Nintendo hasn’t even given a general release time frame, only stating that it’ll be out “later this year.” Back with more as soon as any new information surfaces.

“Mario is truly a one-of-a-kind character; clearly fans can’t get enough of him and his friends,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We’re giving Wii users brilliant new ways to enjoy him while expanding our series of active-play games.”
