To celebrate the forthcoming November 20 launch of Mass Effect, Microsoft, Yahoo! and SCI FI Channel have teamed up for a two-week countdown of exclusive programming and special events. Starting tomorrow, Microsoft and Yahoo! will debut the game’s TV trailer, then on Monday, November 12th Microsoft and the SCI FI Channel will premiere the two-hour extended episode of Battlestar Galactica: Razor in select movie theaters (not quite sure what that has to do with the game…).
On November 13th, the SCI FI Channel will begin a sweepstakes giving away a Collector’s Edition copy of Mass Effect, then come launch day at 11 P.M. EST, a 30-minute TV special of interviews and behind-the-scenes footage titled “Sci vs. Fi: Mass Effect” will debut (and air additional times throughout the remainder of the week). Additional info can be found at www.scifi.com/masseffect.
If that wasn’t enough, Microsoft has also announced the launch of a new Mass Effect micro-site and the pre-order availability of the game’s official soundtrack.
