Mastering the Alchitect Class in Heroes of Ruin

n-Space gives a 5-minute demo walkthrough of the Alchitect class from forthcoming Nintendo 3DS action-RPG Heroes of Ruin. The video doesn’t provide any background on where the origin of the word Alchitect comes from, but it sounds like the words alchemist and architect were smushed together. In gameplay terms, the class seems to be a hybrid of spell casting and melee, with low health and maneuverability but some pretty sweet ability combos. (Gravity Bomb, say hello to your new friend Mr. Solar Beam.)

The touchscreen interface, inventory management, skill trees, mini-bosses and puzzles are other topics briefly covered in the walkthrough, so check it out for a fairly thorough preview of what’s shaping up to be a must-have 3DS RPG to tote around on vacation once it launches this summer. That’s June 26 in North America, to be specific.
