Alongside Smarty Pants, EA has another title heading off to manufacturing today. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for the Wii and PSP has now gone gold and is set to begin shipping in North America on November 13th (in Europe the PSP version drops on Nov. 23, with the Wii version coming sometime in the months thereafter).
Across both platforms, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 puts you in the role of OSS Operative John Berg on a mission to take down the Nazis in a brand new single-player campaign, accompanied by full-featured 32-player online multiplayer warfare. On the Wii, EA Canada has also added a cool new Arcade Mode that changes the game into a lightgun-style rails shooter, and fittingly Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is one of the first titles to take specific advantage of the upcoming Wii Zapper. The original PSP-exclusive Heroes was excellent, so the sequel should certainly be a winner too — I’m particularly excited to try out the Wii’s Arcade Mode. Keep an eye out for this one, folks…
Really, really, REALLY psyched to check this game out. I haven’t heard a bad word about it yet. I like the idea of realism they put into the game for Wii, such as having to pump the controller to reload your shotgun or hoisting the Wii-mote to your shoulder to use a bazooka. I think that’s something that few people making FPS games on the system have really taken advantage of. It’ll definitely offer a unique online multiplayer experience.
