Mekazoo Looks Like it Does a Better Sonic the Hedgehog Game Than Sonic the Hedgehog

Clearly influenced by genre classics like Sonic the Hedgehog and Donkey Kong Country, Mekazoo by indie studio The Good Mood Creators is a free-flowing speed and momentum based 2.5D platformer featuring a super team of the animal kingdom’s finest–and cutest–athletes.

Starting as the speedy armadillo, you will rescue four Mekanimal friends who have been transformed into giant bosses and unlock them as additional playable characters, including the acrobatic frog, springy wallaby, sturdy panda, and high-flying pelican.

These Mekanimals, each gifted with a unique talent, play together in pairs, meaning as the player you will be able to swap back and forth between two characters on the fly. The goal: to defeat an army of insects causing a ruckus in the Mekanasphere.

Mekazoo is currently targeting a late 2015 launch on PC, PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One, and even at this early stage it’s looking seriously awesome. After this, Sega may just need to give The Good Mood Creators a call and have them make the next Sonic the Hedgehog game.
