Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Collector’s Edition Comes With Raiden’s Sword in a Lamp

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is launching February 19, 2013. It’ll be sold by itself for PS3 and Xbox 360, and will also now be available in a Collector’s Edition set with the official soundtrack and special packaging. Oh, and it’ll come with this kick-ass plasma lamp!

Yes, that plasma lamp you see above actually contains a replica of Raiden’s High Frequency sword sticking up from a glowing blue base with bolts of energy surging all around the blade. I can already picture countless Youtube videos of people taking the lamp apart to try to remove the blade.

Of course the all-important question remains unanswered: how much is this thing going to cost? Konami’s not saying yet, but the Collector’s Edition will be available for pre-order shortly so we’ll find out soon enough. Hopefully it’s not too costly as right now I’m totally set on buying one. The Metal Gear fan inside me just can’t resist.
