Mark this date down: July 9th.
That is, of course, the scheduled ship date for Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, the PlayStation 3 mega-compilation containing every core Metal Gear game in a single box.
To recap, the collection includes: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition, the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition, and the two Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novels.
That’s 25 years and four console generations (plus PSP) of Tactical Espionage Action on two Blu-rays!
How much would you expect to pay for such a collection? I was thinking it would cost $60 at the very least, but Konami will actually be selling it for a whole Alexander Hamilton cheaper than that. Yes siree, only $49.99. Better still, the compilation will also come with an art book featuring 100 pages of rare marketing artwork. Now that’s not too painful of a re-buy for folks who already shelled out for the recent HD mini-collection.
