Konami’s Nintendo 3DS remake of PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has confirmed western ship dates. In North America, Snake gets his 3D jungle sneak on next month. February 21st to be precise. That date comes ahead of the European (and Japanese) launch date of March 8th.
What’s new in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D? Well, Konami has retooled the same core game around the unique features the 3DS has to offer. The 3D effect promises greater depth and immersion within the jungle environment. Utilizing the built-in cameras, the new camouflage photography system will give players the ability to snap pictures of any real-life object and create custom camo patterns. The dual-screen display should improve gear management, with Snake’s inventory presented on the bottom screen while the gameplay shows on the top. Even the gyro sensor will be used for motion control actions like balancing on ledges.
Last but not least, the game will also support Nintendo’s Circle Pad Pro for dual analog controls. The bulky accessory add-on goes on sale February 7th for $19.99 exclusively at GameStop.
