MGS: Peace Walker Ships June 8, Sneaks Into PSP Bundle

PSP gamers looking for fun in the sun this summer won’t have to look too hard. Square Enix already confirmed Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for a summertime launch, and now Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker too will ship (and launch on the PSN Store for PSPgo users) in North America this summer — June 8th to be specific.

”The METAL GEAR SOLID series is heading into exciting new areas, and METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER unites the series‘ key gameplay elements with even more tactical possibilities,“ enthused Hideo Kojima, Head of Kojima Productions and creator of the Metal Gear Solid series. ”We look forward to recruiting PSP users to Snake‘s latest mission, as the Metal Gear Solid series returns in a guise that will constantly surprise the player.“

It should also come as no surprise that Sony is latching onto the Peace Walker hype machine in a big way, today announcing plans to release a new Entertainment Pack bundle equipped with a UMD copy of the game, a “Spirited Green” PSP-3000, a voucher to unlock special DLC from the PSN Store, a 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and a voucher to download a yet-to-be-named movie. The bundle will be available in North America for $199.99.
