On the way back from my adventure to Starland on Saturday while waiting to pick up some delicious Uno’s pizza takeout, I stopped in on the nearby Gamestop and put a pre-order down for Metal Gear Solid 4. It was perfect timing too, as this particular Gamestop (which is the closet game store to where I live) just got in their shipment of Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 pre-order bonus DVD’s that morning, so after putting down the $9 and change I had in leftover credit I walked out the proud owner of the DVD and my access code to the Metal Gear Online beta test that’ll be running from April 21st through May 5th (though I’ll be able to have the download ready in advance starting on the 17th).
Only pre-ordered the standard edition because I couldn’t recall at the time what the Limited Edition set contained and, as usual, the clerk had no clue, telling me the info on the LE wasn’t in their system yet even though when I got home that evening I checked the Gamestop website and the MGS4 LE is the headline item (looks good too, so I’ll be upgrading my pre-order next time I’m in there for sure). Yeah, and this was right after the clerk asked me what platform I wanted to pre-order my copy on. Ummm… it’s only coming out on the PS3, dumb ass. Sorry, every time I go to a Gamestop I wind up getting annoyed.
Anyhoo, I haven’t had a chance to watch the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD in full yet, but I’m just about to here in a bit. I’ll post up some quickie impressions sometime tomorrow, just for the hell of it.
