Here is an early surprise announcement from GDC. IGN is reporting, having seen an alpha build of the game running on a PS3, that Ubisoft has Capybara Games working on PSN and Xbox Live Arcade ports of their hit DS puzzle/strategy/RPG hybrid Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, which Mike reviewed here a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved.
According to IGN’s report, the PSN and XBLA versions of Clash of Heroes will be full ports of the DS game enhanced with a beautifully hand-drawn graphics upgrade, expanded multiplayer options to support 2-4 players, locally and online, in co-op and competitive puzzle battles, and various gameplay tweaks including the option to revisit previous chapters and continue playing with past heroes.
A release date hasn’t been set yet, but Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is currently expected to launch on PSN and XBLA this summer. Having heard such great things about the DS version but not having been able to play it yet, I can’t wait to get my hands on the console port.
