Mortal Kombat’s Fourth DLC Fighter is a Legendary Dream Stalker From Elm Street

Mortal Kombat‘s fourth and final DLC kombatant, joining the ranks of Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, has been kept a well-guarded secret for months now. But no more. Today at Comic-Con, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have pulled the curtain back on the last roster update, and it’s an unexpected match made in heaven (or hell, I suppose).

A Nightmare on Elm Street mass murderer Freddy Krueger is joining the party, bringing his dream stalking and claw slashing to the bloody Mortal Kombat competition in perfect style. Like the previous characters, Freddy will have a full move set and two fatalities to master, along with his own story ending as a reward for completing his arcade ladder.

The Freddy Krueger add-on will be available for PSN and Xbox Live download on August 9th. And yep, the standard rate of $4.99 / 400 MS Points still applies.

The only disappointing part to me is that it’s not Robert Englund Freddy, but rather the newer ‘reboot’ Freddy. Beyond that, I love the pairing.
