Namco Bandai Gets the Munchies

Namco Bandai has announced an incredibly quirky new Wii game titled The Munchables. Don’t get too excited all you stoners out there, though, Namco Bandai isn’t making a game about food cravings worked up after smoking pot (though it certainly sounds like those behind the game’s conception may have been smoking a J or two when they came up with the idea).

The Munchables is an original new IP due out in May exclusively for the Wii. Details are few at this point, but the game’s story centers around a race of cute, cuddly and ravenously hungry creatures known as the Munchables and their raging conflict with Don Onion and his Space Pirate onion troopers — I’m not making this up, folks. As the Munchables, you’ll eat the Space Pirate onions to defeat them, and by doing so your Munchable will grow bigger in size. It’s like a weird mishmash of Katamari Damacy and Kirby, which sounds frickin’ brilliant to me!

Don’t know much more than that at the moment, but I do have these first 12 screenshots Namco Bandai released to unveil the project with. Will most definitely be keeping a close eye on this one and report back once new details surface.
