NBA 2K14 Celebrates LeBron James’ NBA Finals MVP Performance (with an NBA 2K13 Screenshot)

Congratulations to NBA 2K14 cover athlete, LeBron James, for his NBA Finals MVP award-winning performance in last night’s Miami Heat Game 7 win over the San Antonio Spurs to secure the team’s second NBA Championship under his reign.

Above’s a screenshot of “Video Game James” celebrating the achievement, MVP trophy firmly in hand. Strangely, the image is stamped with an NBA 2K13 watermark. I guess 2K couldn’t be bothered to make a new one.

Now with four league MVPs, two championship rings, two consecutive NBA Finals MVPs, an NBA scoring championship, and a pair of Olympic gold metals among many other accolades, I think it’s safe to say 2K Sports chose the right time to celebrate The King’s basketball greatness with his first-ever video game cover appearance. To quote James after last season’s monkey-off-his-back championship win, “It’s about damn time!”

NBA 2K14 will be available October 1st on PS3 and Xbox 360. The game will also be available on PC and as a launch title for PS4 and Xbox One.
