Browsing through the Xbox Live Marketplace this morning I noticed that a playable demo for NBA Live 08 had just been posted up by EA Sports. The 562 MB demo features two two-minute quarters of play and four teams to choose from, including the Spurs, Cavs and the Spain and France national squads. I’m pretty impressed with it so far. The player models are the best I’ve seen in a NBA game and the gameplay runs nice and smooth at 60 fps. I’m not really seeing anything special out of the new “Quick Strike Ball Handling” controls, but overall the game appears to be noticeably improved over the past few lackluster series entries. The NBA Live vs. NBA 2K match-up may actually be relevant again this season!
