Courtesy of YouTube, a montage of Gears of War multiplayer clips was brought to my attention and I think you should all drop what you’re doing and check it out. If this doesn’t make you excited for the game and the mayhem that will be Emergence Day, then I don’t know what will.
Here are some things that really caught my eye. You probably already know that for the most part the game is from a third person viewpoint. However it seems that when you run the camera also rocks back and forth. It’s almost like a guy with a video camera is following you through the battle, running just a few steps behind and recording all the action. It’s a really neat effect. Secondly I was surprised how much gore was actually in the multiplayer. It’s more along the lines of Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament than Halo in that respect, which I find a nice change.
UPDATE: Looks like the iron fist of YouTube has crushed another video as just after posting this it was removed for copyright infringement. I swear it was sweet lookin’ though! REALLY I SWEAR!
