New Last of Us Trailer is Like the Car Scene From Children of Men

Earlier this year, Game Informer ran a piece revealing the theatrical sources of inspiration behind the development of Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us. On that list was Children of Men, which is odd because I haven’t seen anything about the game so far that has even remotely reminded me of the Clive Owen post-apocalyptic classic. Until now.

A new cutscene trailer has just been unveiled, via IGN, that instantly made me think of the incredible car ambush scene in Children of Men. The settings and visual styles between the movie and game are very different, but for this particular scene the source of inspiration seems pretty obvious to me. Check it out.

P.S. If you haven’t seen Children of Men, go watch it. Now. It’s one of the most impressively shot and directed movies I’ve ever seen.
