Not to be outdone by Natsume’s Reel Fishing Paradise 3D, D3Publisher has announced a 3D fishing sim of its own for the Nintendo 3DS. Which is the bigger catch will be determined in due time.

For now, Angler’s Club: Ultimate Bass Fishing 3D, under development by Tamsoft, sounds like it’s doing a bit more to tap into the 3DS tech. The 3DS’s new analog nub and accelerometer will be used for locating and reeling in fish — the man-versus-lunker battle to be displayed in full 3D of course — and players will even be able to take a photo of themselves with the built-in camera to generate the facial features for their angling avatar. The core game will revolve around competing in 50 championship tournaments, and there will be no shortage of rods, reels, lures and other fishing gear needed to git ‘er done!

Angler’s Club: Ultimate Bass Fishing 3D ships this summer.
