No surprise here. Nintendo’s making a new Fire Emblem game exclusively for the 3DS.

It doesn’t have an official title yet, but it’s a new Fire Emblem game, and it’s being made by the same team that produced the masterful Fire Emblem: Awakening, so you know it’s going to be great.

Nintendo put out a teaser trailer (with flashes of actual gameplay) along with a vague press release description stating that “the new adventure adds challenges never before seen in the series and asks players to make decisions that will affect the game’s world in new ways.”

Unrelated to this game but still on the topic of Fire Emblem, what the hell ever happened to Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem? We’re approaching two full years since that Wii U exclusive was announced, and Nintendo has said bupkis about the game in quite a while. I hope it hasn’t been cancelled, but I’m beginning to fear that that dream crossover was too good to be true.
