Having already revealed the game for PC and PlayStation 4, The Deep End Games and Feardemic have now confirmed that Perception is also coming to Xbox One. The game is expected to launch simultaneously across all three platforms sometime this year.
So what’s Perception? A first-person narrative horror game about a young, blind woman named Cassie, who must unravel the mysteries of an abandoned mansion that she’s had visions of in her nightmares. Haunted by a “ghostly Presence,” the mansion has taken many victims over the generations. As Cassie, you will need to use echolocation to navigate, tapping her cane, listening to ambient noises, and creating sounds to “see” her surroundings, or to distract the evil force perusing her in the darkness.
I’ve already got the heebie-jeebies just from watching the new teaser trailer. The atmosphere looks super suspenseful, the voice acting totally adds to the sense of fear and dread, and the echolocation mechanic seems to be more fully realized than the similar sight-through-sound game Pulse.
