Revealed during last year’s E3, The Order: 1886 was building up to be the PlayStation 4’s headline killer app exclusive for later this year. But not anymore.
As had been recently rumored, the Victorian Era third-person shooter that’s putting a steampunk spin on the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (it’s got Thermite rifles and Arc guns rather than swords and shields) will now launch sometime in early 2015. Developer Ready At Dawn Studios doesn’t give much explanation behind the delay, beyond the predictable “we have decided to spend some extra time to deliver on the promise we made when we first introduced the game.”
Perhaps in a preemptive attempt to soften the blow of today’s delay news, Ready At Dawn hosted a brief Twitch stream of The Order gameplay footage last Friday. You can watch a recorded portion of that steam below if you missed it live. Don’t forget to check out the new behind the scenes video while you’re at it.
