I was surprised by how little the PlayStation Vita factored into Sony’s E3 showcase. Really, there were only two major developments on the game front, one of which was the not-so-unexpected announcement that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is coming to the Vita. But more than that, it’ll feature cross-everything support between the PS3 and Vita, meaning players can battle against each other across both platforms and transfer their game saves and DLC if both copies are owned.
Sony also introduced two more mascot fighters to the character roster, including Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake (that one was a no-brainer) and BioShock‘s Big Daddy (awesome!), which unless I’m mistaken is the first of the third-party stars to be confirmed. I imagine we’re going to get incremental character reveals just like this until the game’s launch. Smart marketing, but a painful drip feed for gamers.
